Seven Months is Heaven!

I am seven months old! Whoooo! Kick up your feet and catch up on my growth.
This last month has been very fun. I have learned to do so many new things. I love to roll over and also am getting pretty good at drinking out of a cup. I realize I am a little behind on the crawling front, but I plan to work on it really hard. Daddy and I play with my firetruck and I just got a new hockey stick that is a blast to use. I whip it around and hit anyone close by...so be careful if you see me with it.
We had a lot of firsts this month as well. I got my first tooth (ouch), tried some french fries from Frickers (say that 5 times fast), and of course-had my first (and hopefully last) surgery. I got ear tubes to keep me from getting more ear infections. It went well, but it hurt a little and anasthesia was no fun!
Here are some photos I wanted to share-
Grandma Brown and Aunt Patty made me this great Dr. Seuss wall hanging for my room. It is a replica of the ABC book by Dr. Seuss with a few special touches that you can see below.

I was very tickled to recieve this beautiful quilt from a family friend Karen.
I was sitting on it playing and the dogs could not resist sharing with me!
Personalized just for me!!!!
Thank you so much Karen!

Daddy and I were being silly in our Titan gear. He was mimicking my "Bill Murray in Caddyshack" face that I make when my teeth hurt.

Here I am with my new hockey stick watching the "Wingies" (aka: Redwings) with Daddy.
Dad says this is my goalie pose, but mommy says I am not allowed to be a goalie. I don't know why? =)

Here are the coaches kids terrorizing the loft at the Mark Rasmus Invitational.
Kendall, Lola, Me and Emmie..(Mia is in the background). I am the only boy.
Here we are with our mommies!
My dinosour outfit is perfect for the cold rink.

6 months....Ho Ho Ho!!

My big boy is still somewhat big. 6 months found us another ear infection and a possible ruptured eardrum. Due to being so sick, he dropped from 25% in weight to the 10% and dropped from the 90% to the 75% in height. It looks like ear tubes are in our future!

We did not let this get us down. December was full of family fun time!
Take a comparison view of this 6 month photo of Sawyer above and my nephew Patrick at 6 months (below). There has been some debate as to who Sawyer resembles. I feel he favors my side of the family more, and this is my evidence.

Bring on the Christmas celebration!
Love me some grandma Szynkowski!
Grandpa S makes me laugh!

I seem to take all the photos but forget to get pictures of all 3 of us together. This was the best I could do for now. I promise to wok on a family photo!

Sawyer got to spend quality holiday time with everyone! Here he is with grandma and papa hat on Christmas day.

He got to play with his cousin Reese who is only 3 weeks younger. They had a lot of fun.

Meredith and the boys came in from Texas to have some Ohio/Michigan fun. Patrick and Brady loved the snow and kept saying they did not need coats. After a few days they still liked the snow but were ready for the cold to go away. This is a nice photo at nana and papa's house.
Love my aunt!
The boys were so cute with Sawyer. They took many turns holding him. They said they could not wait until he was old enough to play with.

No grinch can spoil Christmas for me!

Milestones met-
1. On exactly his 6 month birthday he sat up by himself
2. Rolls over-phew!
3. Talks and talks and talks...syllables are coming out
4. Loves using his bouncy
5. Eats all things fruits and vegetables! That's my boy!

5 Months.....Gobble Gobble!

The 5th month brought a lot of things. As you can see above, Sawyer had his first solid food-green beans. He really got in to the experience. Since this time, we have upgraded our meal time bibs to the more substantial plastic/waterproof bibs.

He had his first Thanksgiving where we fried our first (of many) turkey. It turned out really tasty and will be a staple in our future holiday meals. It is so simple to do and the clean-up is a breeze. Sawyer did not get to try the turkey, but he did get to sample some mashed potatoes.

The 5th month also brought some tests. The whole family was under the weather. I fell ill with some viral infection of unknown origin. I have not been that sick in a LONG time. I missed several days of work. Jason luckily escaped my same fate, but had a bad cold that held on for 3 weeks. Poor Sawyer got a double ear infection that did not respond to the first antibiotic. The second medication worked well but easily upset his tummy. So, eating was not so fun for a little while. We got a lot of snuggle time in but not so much sleepy time. =)

The good news is that he eventually got better and was back to being his happy little self. The above picture is a really neat gift from our friends the Fentons. Sawyer is sporting a Miami hockey jersey with Szynko #5 on the back. I will have more pictures of it in later posts.

So, not a lot of photos this month, but I promise to make up for it at 6 months!

4 Months... Boooo!

4 month...26inches and 14 lbs!
Oh what fun it is to have a boy!
So my big kid jumped from the 25-90% for height and 10-25% for weight.
I have been adding growth hormone to his bottles...haha!
Soooo Big!
He is moving his hands really well and babbles a lot.
He will laugh at any loud noise including the dogs barking.

This was the best I could get of the dogs and Sawyer on the basement couch. We had a lot of fun on Halloween. Sawyer was the cutest penguin ever!

This is adorable Kendall, Jason's goddaugher. I love it!
It was really cold on Halloween, so Jason and Sawyer were snuggling to keep warm.

The lovely Mia and Emme
Big squeeze!

Sawyer, Lola, and Kendall

He found Lola's activity center. Lots of drool but no teeth yet.

A giggle and a squirt

Well, I am a little behind so let me catch you up to Sawyer's 3 month birthday!
Today my little man giggled for me for the first time! Now, others have told me that he has giggled, but in my book it is not his first time until his mommy hears it =) ! It was quite cute, and I can't wait for him to do it more.
He also had a very unusual accident today where he "sprayed" himself in the face and mouth. Sawyer understandably was very distressed by this (as was I) but I thought it was funny enough to mention as I don't keep a baby book (bad, mom I know.)
Here are delayed 3 month photos

He is a very, very happy baby. If he would only sleep he would be the perfect child.

Given the recent fall weather, we have taken a few trips to the apple orchard. We got a change to go with friends and family and to try out our new super cool Cannon Rebel camera. I have a new obsession. I hope to take photography lessons to learn how to use it to the fullest extent.

Our good friends the Schuttes (Carey, Hallie, Brady and Colin). They are recent transplants from Oxford, OH (Miami land)

Sawyer staying warm in the stroller at the orchard.
My sister Meredith and my nephew Brady came in from Dallas to check up on Sawyer's progress and enjoy the fall weather. We took another trip to MacQueens for Brady's first time apple picking and the much debated Apple Butter Festival. We had their world famous fritters (yum, yum, yum) and picked a half bushel of apples. It was cold and rainy, but we had fun!

These are photos I posted just to show off the greatness of my new camera and the beauty of the orchard.

Brady was hesitant at first to pick apples but became quite good at it soon enough, especially with a boost from Uncle Jason.

Nana and Papa came too and made it double the fun. Sawyer was quiet as a mouse up to this point. Never a good idea to try and take pictures when your child is hungry!

Other things in our life.
We mourn the loss of a very special man, Mark Rasmus. For those of you who don't know him, he was the father of our friend Markus who coached SJJ hockey with Jason. Mark was a very wonderful, friendly man who we became good friends with. He lost very quick battle with cancer at too young of an age. He will be greatly missed by everyone, especially the Szynkowski family.
I will always think of him around Sawyer's birthday because his wife Kay was in the car in front of us at the valet station of the hospital when I went in to deliver. We did not know at the time he was sick, nor why Kay was at the hospital. She was the first person to know of Sawyer's soon arrival and was so sweet to us as usual!
Grandpa Szynkowski had an unfortunate accident and has been in rehab for several weeks. It has been a bumpy road for everyone including him and we hope he can come home soon. He won't be able to walk for 2 more months so life is getting a little complicated. Things are looking okay so we will keep our fingers crossed!
Sawyer's milestones
1. Giggling (previously mentioned)
2. He found his hands, and chews on them constantly
3. Recently started sleeping 12 hours at night. Now, mind you, not continuously. I wish!
4. Holds his head up better
5. LOVES to watch tv especially sports!
On to four months....and new firsts!

Change is inevitable

Well, this is my last day with Sawyer before going back to work. I knew this day would come, but it does not make it any easier. He is growing and changing so fast, and aside from the sleep deprivation, it has been an amazing experience. I love being a mom.

Here are a few pictures of our last few weeks.

Bug loves bath time!

2 month check up......9.5 lbs, 22 1/2 inches
10% for weight, 25% for height

PA pride at Meghan's wedding. So fun!

First trip to Mr. Freeze (Perrysburg location)

Maggi and Jake stopped by for some Mr. Freeze on their way to Michigan.

We celebrated Colin Schutte's first birthday. The Schuttes are our good friends from Miami that moved to BG. We are looking forward to seeing them more often!
